Government going paperless also...

The government is phasing out paper checks and moving to direct deposit and pay cards. Starting next year, millions of people will be switching there social security, veterans benefits, and federal disability payments to paperless. This will help cut down on costs of paper along with fraud returns. Every month, the government pays around 73 million people which is a lot of paper and possible fraud! I think this is an awesome change that will help save the government alot of money, while protecting others at the same time!

Perry's Campaign Costs $3.6 Million So Far..

Rick Perry's reportedly spent $3.6 million dollars from Texas taxpayers to fund his campaign according to the state Friday, and the Democrat's want him to pay it back. The Texas Department of Public Safty reported that he spent $1.8 million on food, fuel, hotels, and other expenses and another $1.8 million on overtime guarding from August to January.

This is an absurd amount of money and I think that some of these politicans need to start learning how to really budget, especially on there campaigns! I agree with the Democrats that its ridiculous the amount of money he's spent so far and that he should pay it back!

Santorum Backtracing Once Again..

Rick Santorum was recently interviewed on CNN  and backtracked once again regarding the comments he made about President Obama's call for higher education. Santorum recently accused Obama of snobbery for advocating that all students attend college, saying that not everyone would benefit from four years at liberal-learning university. A couple days later, Santorum was confronted on Fox News with Obama's past statements calling for higher education, such as community colleges or technical schools, Santorum said that made sense.

I think that Santorum needs to focus more on what he's thinking, and saying it, instead of back pedaling all of the time. I think that he shoots off his mouth a lot more than he should, and should at least think a little longer about the questions he's asked..

According to Santorum, Obama's Apology was "weak"

In a recent interview with Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum on ABC's Sunday night news, he stated that President Obama is displaying "weakness". Santorum stated that President Obama's apology to Afghanistan for burning the koran on an American base demonstrated "weakness" to them. He also stated that there was "no act that needed to be apologized."

Overall I think that President Obama did what needed to be done to comply with Afghanistan and show them that the whole country wasn't trying to disrespect the koran. I also think that this shows how American's are trying and willing to work together and move on from the past.

Millions of Jobless Americans File for Disability

Reports have found that being unemployed for long is driving many American's mad and causing them to file for disabilty when there unemployment compensations run out. The Post wrote that about 10.5 million people, or 5.3% of the population, recieved disabilty checks in the month of January. This was about a 18% jump since before the recession. From those claiming for disabilty, 43% of them are claiming for mental health illnesses and many are former laid off white-collar work.

Overall, the jump in the numbers is pretty dramatic! I understand people are getting depressed, having anxiety, and other medical conditions because of the stress of not having a job...But this may be a red flag for many of the politicians trying to help and change America. We have way too many problems going on now days for young americans to have to worry about such as rising costs of daily life, getting proper schooling, social security, and something needs to be done instead of "bickering" back and forth.

Springfield Parking Abuser's Better Pay up!

The city of Springfield is warning there people to pay up on there past due parking tickets, otherwise it could be deducted out of there state refund checks, retirement's, and even payroll checks. Springfield could become one of the first municipalities in Illinois to recover outstanding debts through the Office of Comptroller's Local Debt Recovery Program. The city would turn-over a list of violators to the state, where they would check to see. If a match is found, the amount owed plus  an administrative fee of $15 will be added to the amount owed and deducted from the total.

Overall, I think that this is a good move for the state of Illinois. With the State being broke, we could use the money! I also think that this will help send a message to all the people that don't pay up on there parking tickets including city and state workers along with retired people also!
